THE RIGHT HOUSE: MAKING ROOM FOR THE MASTER

04/25/2025

Scripture: “He will show you a large room upstairs, all furnished. Make preparations there." – Luke 22:12 (NIV)
Memory Verse: "Behold, I stand at the door and knock…" – Revelation 3:20

Jesus didn't send His disciples on a random mission. He gave them precise instructions to find a place—a room that had already been furnished, already prepared. And those last three words gripped my spirit: the right house. My mind went back to the last devotion I prepared, The Keeper Is Coming. The question resounded in my ear, have I created a place that the Master can enter without hesitation? A place not just where He visits, but where He's welcome to dwell?

My life can get so cluttered—with goals, obligations, emotions, memories, fears, and even ministry—that there's barely room left. I'm often so focused on making it into the Kingdom, doing the right things, checking the boxes, staying "saved," that I forget to ask: Can the King come in right now? Or have I barricaded the door with my busyness?

Preparing the house isn't about perfection; it's about availability. It's about surrendering the space He's already blessed you with and making sure it's not occupied by things that can't hold His glory. Is there room for Jesus to stretch out and break bread in your home? Your heart? Your daily life?

That room the disciples found wasn't flashy—but it was ready. That's what made it the right house.

I admonish you to join menin taking inventory today. What's cluttering the spiritual space in your life? Are there routines, attitudes, or distractions that are crowding the King out? Make a list. Physically clear something out today—a drawer, a schedule, a relationship, even a mindset—as a prophetic act of preparing room for Him.

PRAYER

Lord, I want to be the right house. I want You to find in me a place prepared—not perfect, but open. Help me clear away anything that keeps You from fully entering. I don't want to just make it into the Kingdom—I want the King to enter into my now. Come in and dwell, Master. This is Your house. Amen.
